Imagine and world where Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz meets Alice in Wonderland‘s main character. What would we call this land? How would their meeting change their stories? What themes do the stories have in common and what would we want to change? These are some of the questions that we explored during the making of a youth-written play called Much Ado About Woz
After studying the trajectory of plots and main themes of both stories, a group of young people, ages 9-13 collaborated to write this play, build props, create electronic backdrops, and even plan a meal to make their new story come alive.
The most amazing aspect was to see how each individual brought in their wide variety of talents: from tap dancing and ballet to guitar and violin playing to stage makeup and costume design, they truly pulled in such an amazing array of performing and visual art aspects to their already creative and entertaining story.
